Tall hardback, 12 x 9.5 inches. Textured black cloth covers with embossed ‘quarter-bound’ design. Decorative gilt lettering to spine. Top page edges gilt. Maroon endpapers. In very good condition. Some minor handling to cover else clean and smart, minor bump to leading edge. Small library number to bottom of spine. Bookplate to front endpaper “Hay Fleming Reference Library St. Andrews 1932.” stamped at bottom “Withdrawn by Hay Fleming Trustees 7/77.” Neatly penned code to top edge of blank side of endpaper and rear of title page. Furtheer inscription to blank side of endpaper “D. Hay Fleming, St. Andrews, 1902.” No other library marks. (No stamps to plates &c.) A couple of minor handling marks to pages, some minor darkening to edges (rough cut.) Some minor tanning to plates else all very clean and bright. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 92pp. Illustrated with 45 full-page B&W steel engraved plates.
