Eight Volumes. (Two Years each in Four Volumes.) Large hardbacks, 13 x 10 inches. In leather fine bindings by “Zaehnsdorf.” Quarter bound polished red morocco leather to spines and corners, and marbled paper boards. Gilt line edging to boards, raised banding, gilt lettering and decorations to spines. Top page edges gilt, marbled endpapers. In very good conditions. Some minor darkening to spines and edges of boards. Some rubbing to extremities, some rubbing and small chips to corners of 1888 volumes and edges, some minor rubbing to boards. 1889 volumes are a bit smarter overall with much less rubbing to edges and spines are slightly brighter. Binders stamps to bottom corners of endpapers “Zaehnsdorf.” Inside pages and plates all very clean and tight, some small minor foxing spots to endpapers, a couple of minor spots to a couple of plates, some minor darkening to edges of some pages and plates. Some mild foxing to one or two odd plates in 1889 volumes. Else a very good clean and tight set. 8 Volumes (2 sets of 4.) Profusely illustrated with many fine engraved plates and chapter headings/decorations, most are B&W but some plates are in full colour.
