Two Volumes. Large hardbacks, 18 x 11 inches. Quarter bound dark brown polished morocco leather with light brown cloth boards, gilt line edging, raised banding and gilt floral decorations to spines. Top edges gilt, marbled endpapers. In very good conditions. Later modern bindings. Some minor fading to spines and edges of boards. Corners slightly bumped. Some minor rubbing to corners and extremities. Some minor handling marks to boards. Endpapers clean, no penned inscriptions. Some minor light foxing spots to page edges and prelims. Some minor darkening/offsetting to folding maps at front of volumes. The odd minor handling mark to pages, else overall pages and plates all very clean, bright and tight throughout. With Additional plates added in rear of vol.2. 2 vols: 434 + 30pp (Index & Appendix) & 290 +20pp. Vol.1 lists 82 full-page plates and 18 smaller illustrations in text. Includes two large folding frontis maps.
