Marbled endpapers and page edges. In very good condition. Extremities rubbed; spines, edges and corners. Some minor rubbing and small scratches to boards, large scratch to front of v.4. Covers slightly rubbed. Mild foxing to edges. Endpapers and prelims clean, no penned inscriptions or foxing. Small tear and hole to inner side of halftitle page, with glue repair partially stuck to title pg. Inside pages all very clean and tight throughout. Else a very clean and tight set. 10 volumes. Approx 400pp each. History of the early 17th Century and the reigns of James I and Charles I. Covers the rise of puritanism and the increasing conflicts between kings and Parliament.
