Tall hardback, 12.5 x 8 inches. Full red morocco leather binding with decorative gilt and embossed paneled decoration to boards, raised banding and gilt decoration to spine. Gilt edge dentelles to boards, all page edges gilt. Light grey/green endpapers. In very good condition. Some darkening to spine and handling marks to boards, some dark rubbing to front, corners bumped, edges rubbed. Ends of spines with small chips and cracks to ends with glue repairs. Some surface chips/scuffs to leather on inner edges of front board. Bookplate to front endpaper “Pauncefort Duncombe, of Buckhill Manor, Bucks.” Some slight darkening to pages and some offsetting from plates. Some foxing to plates but generally clean and bright, some heavier foxing to a couple of plates near end. 196pp. With many extra B&W engraved plates, some mezzotints; views, portraits and maps. Complete with the 5 plates that are mentioned on list, but in total has 99 bound-in plates (three fold outs-Plymouth, Worcester and facsimile of the Declaration. ,) and another 13 plates pasted to blank-verso sides of bound plates.
