In very good near fine condition with very good dustwrapper (DW, edges rubbed and chipped/torn, some loss to ends of spine, in protective sleeve, not clipped.) Cloth is very clean and smart with bright lettering & design. Endpapers clean, “Foyles” bookshop label to front. Bold inscription to rear side of frontis plate, “Mack Mayhew, The Wilderness, Hindhead. Not to be lent to anyone.” One or two negligible spots and handling marks, else inside pages all very clean, bright and tight throughout. A very clean and tight copy. 528pp. Profusely illustrated with 17 full-page B&W plates by H.M. BROCK, H. TRINGHAM & others. From the 3rd edition onwards this book was completely revised, and now included chapters on "The Gordon Bennett Race of 1903", and "Motor Cars for Men of Moderate Means".
