Hardback, approx 8 x 5.5 inches. Dark green cloth with gilt lettering to spine and front. Black endpapers. In very good condition. Some rubbing to edges and corners, bottom leading corners bumped, a couple of small nicks to bottom of spine. Bookeller label “H.H.G. Grattan, London Bridge,” to front endpaper. Small torn/chipped portion to top of front endpaper. Plates are all clean and bright but pages with a few handling marks and moderate foxing throughout. Else overall a very good clean and tight copy. 630pp. 200 B&W illustrations including 37 full page plates. Deals mostly with pheasant, grouse, game, wood-pigeon shooting, and the breaking dogs for the gun.
