Hardback, Large, approx 12 x 10 inches. Quarter bound in dark green polished calf leather fine binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Leather spine label lettered in gilt, with raised banding, and extensive gilt decoration to spine. Gilt decorative edging to leather on boards. Marbled page edges, light brown endpapers. In very good condition. Some wear to cover; rubbing to edges, with small chips to leather around corners. Spine darkened/faded, with some rubbing to ends, small split at bottom edge. Some handling marks to boards with some marks to rear. Bookplates to front endpaper “George Saville,” and “W.H. Creswell.” Some mild foxing to title page. Some minor spots to inside pages, a couple of minor spots to plates but otherwise plates all very clean and bright throughout. Else a very nice 1st edition copy. 252pp. Illustrated with Sixty Coloured Plates. (Includes one extra plate loose inside “Eider Duck,” same illustration as at p223, but with slightly different colouring.)
