In very good condition with very good dustwrapper (DW spine darkened, top edges rubbed, small chip to top end of spine, small nicks to corners. Not clipped.) Cloth clean. Neat inscription to front endpaper “Trevor Tompson Christmas 1935.” Pages clean and tight. Else a very clean and tight copy. 190pp +2p cat. With b&w line drawings in text by the author. W. S. Gilbert wrote a large number of "ballads" for the magazine Fun using his pen-name "Bab." These Bab Ballads became famous on their own, as well as being a source for plots and songs for the G&S operas.
