2 vols. Large hardbacks, 12 x 9 inches. Quarter bound in red morocco leather and marbled paper covered boards. Gilt lettering to spine with decorative gilt and raised banding. Plain endpapers. In very good conditions. Soem slight fading to spines, some minor rubbing to faces of boards. Edges rubbed and corners bumped. Vol.2 has small nick to top corner of spine and chipped/broken bottom front corner, this also effects the first 80-100 pages with small chips to the bottom corner. Some mild foxing to title pages and edges of engraved plates, with some staining to plate edges. Coloured maps clean and bright. Some light foxing spots to pages else very clean and tight throughout. 599 + 274 +192pp. 4 maps, 2 hand-coloured in outline, 38 engraved and lithographed plates, Baxter colour plate of Pitney pevement, vignettes in text, pedigrees, some folding.
