Card hardback, tall, 15 x 8 inches. Shaped top edge. Colour illustrated paper covered boards. In very good condition., Some minor rubbing to edges and corners, bump to bottom corner with tape repair to spine and some tape to boards. Inside pages slightly tanned, a couple of thumb marks, some minor dark rubbing to first page. Bookseller label to corner of front board “W.C. Bluett, Holsworthy.” Coloured illustrations bright and clean. A very rare and wonderful example of Louis Wain’s famous Cats’ Books. 12pp. 4 coloured full-page illustrations (one double page centre spread.) and B&W illustrations. Some of the Very Best Full Color Plates from the Master of Feline Illustration, One of The Rarest of all The Louis Wain Books. “The Right Sort,” “Anxious Rooks,” “Fuzzy’s Failure,” “Paying The Bill,” “The Black Intruder,” “A Nasty Tumble,” “The Punishment,” and “Glee.” Plates Titled; “Supper-Time,” “How Paulina Took The Ducklings Out,” “We Are Seven.” According to Rodney Dale, the title Kits and Cats was originally published in 1904 (Dale, 95) by Raphael Tuck in the "Little Pets" series (No. 8838). This book was smaller in size, was not 'shaped' and contained completely different stories and pictures. Dale, 96.
