4 vols; Folio. (16.5 x 10 inches.) Quarter bound in dark brown calf leather and brown cloth covered boards. Raised banding, gilt decoration and lettering to spines. Speckled page edging, marbled endpapers. In good conditions. Some rubbing and wear to covers. Corners bumped and rubbed. Rubbing and some minor splits/marks to cloth, soiling rear v.1. Spine on vol.2 is noticeably more heavily rubbed than other vols. Inside pages very clean and tight. Some minor spots else very clean and tight inside. Good reading copies. Approx. 121 steel-engr.plates / plans, etc., lacks 3 plates; v.2. p242 Symondsbury Church, p.694. Rampisham Cross, and v.3. p115. Uddens House. (copies of these plates can be supplied upon request.) Map mentioned in title was not bound in by the publisher in this edition. Although stating on the title page that a map is present, this does not seem to have been issued with the third edition (see Squibb: The Plates in Hutchins' History of Dorset). NOT bound in here are the introductory pages and notes relating to earlier editions.
