Hardback, approx 8 x 5 inches. In light cream cloth covers with red lettering and brown illustration to front. Black endpapers. In very good condition. Some rubbing to corners and ends of spine, spine darkened, some handling marks to rear. Bookplate to front “Carberry Tower, Elphinstone.” Some darkening to endpapers, and some light foxing opposite plates. Else a very clean and tight copy. 298pp. With 8 B&W illustrations by A. THORNBURN, and C. WHYMPER.
