4to.(24cm x 30cm). Full morooco with raised floral decor.in black and gold on front cover, blind-stamped decor.on back cover. Pict.gold endpapers. 13 double-pages, each with cut out for photographs, 9 of which are illustrated with very nice coloured chromo.lithographs (floral design). Most have photographs inserted (portaits of soldiers and various family members), by Serille & Co./ Heawood,,Leicester,etc.; The other half of the album has a hollow back and is fitted with a small musical movement. It plays several very cheerful tunes which are changed via a snail cam. The engagement finger for this is controlled by a lever which is connected to the brass clasp outside. It is protected by a inner glass lid (fitted into the last illustrated page).Also present inside the box inserted in a small brass attachment is the original key.The album has small "feet" on the back cover. Photo-album inside trifle finger-marked. The binding is in very good condition, the musical movement is clean and in perfect working order.
