Bookseller label to corner of endpaper “Henry Godwin, Bath.” Some minor darkening to engraved plates, a couple of minor handling marks, else a very clean and tight copy. 196pp. Illustrated with 4 B&W engraved plates plus and engraved title page vignette. This is the second edition of a surprisingly popular book in the first half of the 19th century with many editions recorded. Based on a true story, a young girl snatches her father from exile in Siberia.
