Decorative gilt paneled boards and edges. Light brown endpapers and speckled page edges. Binding by “Nutt.” In very good conditions. Some wear to covers; Edges of boards rubbed and corners slightly bumped. Spines a little rubbed, lacks spines labels on vols.1&9. Some dark spots to boards, some scratches and chips to leather.Some dark foxing spots to endpapers, binders stamps to front corners “Bound by Nutt.” Neat inscription to first blank endpaper “John M. Freshfield, May 1853.” Some title pages foxed, with small stamps to rear corners “Vertrag 1846.” Some minor foxing spots, else pages all very clean and tight throughout. Illustrated with 2 b&w woodcut figures in vol.1.
