Hardback, Tall 8vo. 10 x 7 inches. Red cloth with gilt lettering to spine and front and gilt vignettes of Geisha girl and Mount Fiji to front. Green page edges. In very good condition. Cloth is a little worn and rubbed on boards, corners bumped. Ends of spine rubbed and nicked. Repaired split to cloth on rear spine edge. Endpapers slightly darkened. Embossed stamp to title page “Presentation Copy.” A couple of light spots to pages else pages and plates all very clean, bright and tight throughout. 8 col. plates. 80 photo.plates from photographs by the author. 395pp. H. G. Ponting was the official photographer on Captain Scott’s Antarctic expedition of 1912.
