In very good condition with very good dustwrapper (DW minor rubbing to edges and corners, spine slightly darkened with small spot, in protective sleeve, NOT clipped.) Cloth clean. Endpapers slightly darkened with some light foxing, light foxing to edges of title page. Some dark spots to page edges and some light foxing to inner pages else a very nice tight copy. 291pp. Illustrated with 111 photographs by the Author (which were mostly unpublished before now). Maps. The first part of this book contains all the hitherto uncollected writings by Lawrence about the East (incl. the study and photographing of Crusaders’ castles). In addition, this book also contains the full text of the suppressed Introductory chapter to “Seven Pillars of Wisdom”; an essay “The Changing East” which appeared anonymously in the “Round Table”; and essay “The Evolution of a Revolt” which appeared in the “Army Quarterly”, and later formed the basis for chapter 33 of “Seven Pillars...”;
