12 volumes. Hardback, 7 x 4.5 inches. In full tree-calf leather bindings, twin red leather spine labels lettered in gilt, with raised and gilt banding and decoration to spines. Gilt decorations to board edges and blind embossed inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers and page edges. Gilt vignette to front board of vol.1. “Rugby School.” In very good conditions. Some rubbing and shelf wear to edges and boards. Corners and ends of spines bumped and rubbed, a couple of bumps to edges. Partial darkening to front board vol.1. Some fading/darkening to spines. Some minor darkening and small spots to endpapers and light stain to top half of frontis portrait. Bookplates to front endpaper of vol.1. Some neat pencil notes to page margins. Else inside pages and plates very clean and tight throughout. Illustrated with an engraved frontis portrait, and folding Maps and Plans.
