Marbled page edges and endpapers. In very good condition. Corners slightly rubbed and top end of spine chipped. Spine darkened and rubbed, some minor scratches/marks to boards. Prize bookplate to front endpaper “Wells Cathedral Grammar School, Prize for French Set 1, Awarded to Carter.” Some minor marks and darkening to half-title and last index page, else inside pages very clean and tight throughout. 548pp; 8 chromolitho plates (sepia tint), 3 maps & numerous woodcuts.
