Hardback. Size approx 9 x 6 inches. In blue cloth covers with gilt lettering to spine and front. In very good condition with minor rubbing to edges and corners. Slight darkening to spine. Endpapers darkened. Some spotting to outer page edges else a very clean and tight copy. The now quite scarce first biography of Shackleton, the famous Antarctic explorer. Mill was a friend and associate of Shackleton. He had a great deal of input and cooperation from Shackleton’s wife, mother and sisters during the writing of his book which was published quite soon after Shackleton’s death and includes chapters on all of his major journeys. 312pp. 20 B&W photo plates & 4 maps in the text
