Very attractive black full morocco binding with raised bands and gt. devices on spine, and gt. rules plus a large sunken oval title with relief work on both covers. Inner gilt dentelles. Marbled endpapers. Nice photogravure plate of Shakespeare’s Tomb in Stratford Church, coat of arms on title-page, photogravure plate of Holy Trinity Church, Stratford upon Avon, and 3 sepia plates by J.N. Paton. Private bookplate on inside front cover (Rev. Sir Charles Shaw). Binding a bit rubbed, mostly on raised bands, ends of spine, and corners. Inside very clean. A few minor faults, else very good. Contents: The Life and Death of King John, The life and death of Richard the Second, The first part of Henry the Fourth, The Life of Henry the Fift, The first part of Henry the Sext, The second part of Henry the Sixt, The third part of Henry the Sixt, The Tragedy of Richard the Third, The Life of King Henry the Eight, The Tragedy of Troylus and Cressida.
