Some light/mild foxing to plates. Else pages clean and tight. 320, 309pp.(incl.Postscript). With 40 engraved plates (incl.2 frontiss.). The first book edition of the author’s last completed novel. Neat inscription to front endpaper “Marion Pyle June 1918.” Mild foxing to edges. Foxing to half title mild foxing spots to pages throughout, mostly to edges. Colour plates clean and bright. Else a clean and tight copy. 138pp. With colour plates tipped in to captioned brown paper. Beautifully illustrated edition of Dicken’s second Christmas Book, originally published in the 1840s.

30 Vols. Hardback. Tall 8vo. Quarter bound calf leather bindings with marbled paper boards. Twin black morocco leather spine labels lettered in gilt. Extensive gilt decoration and raised banding to spine. Marbled edges and endpapers. In good conditions. All volumes have professionally re-laid spines and bindings with original leather and boards. Bumps and chips to corners and some chips to ends of spines. Rubbing to extremities and to faces of boards. Endpapers clean with neat inscriptions to fronts “Richd. Woolleonube, from BM, Sept ‘87.” Dicken’s “Centenary Testimonial” Stamp below incription. Some minor handling marks, a couple of minor repairs to gatherings, Else clean and tight copies. 30 volumes. With b/w illustrations by Phiz, Cruikshank, Frederick Walker, Edwin Landseer, Daniel Maclise, John Leech, Marcus Stone, George Cattermole, and Luke Fildes. The Library Edition was published to provide a high quality edition of Dickens’ works. This edition has fine binding by Riviere Brothers and illustrations by a variety of well known artists, including the traditional Phiz and Cruikshank.
