Size 7.5 x 10.0 inches. In dark green cloth covers with gilt to spine. With illustrated dustwrapper. 256pp. With 162 colour plates. In near fine condition with very good dustwrapper (dw; slightly creased along top edge.Not price clipped). A very clean and tight copy. This collection of prints represents one of the most valuable primary sources of reference to Napoleonís uniforms ever assembled. Aaron Martinet produced a set of drawings taken from first hand information. Guy Dempsey provides commentary and captions.

4 vols.; Black half calf leather bindings with elaborate gold decoration and lettering to spines. Marbled covers, endpapers & edges. In very good conditions. Original leather bindings. Some chips to leather at ends of spine and edges, with rubbing to ends and edges. Boards rubbed. Corners bumped. top edges darkened. Hinges slightly cracked. Neat inscription top of title pg. v.1. Some small foxing spots and marks but overall pages very clean and tight throughout. 28 steel-engraved plates complete (including frontis of Napoleon), with folding plans and maps. 392 pp. / 404 pp./ 400 pp. / 420 pp. with additional loose plate, “The Retreat from Waterloo.” (John Gilbert, A. Warren.)
