Size 8.0 x 10.5 inches. In blue cloth covers with nouveau border to pasted on colour plate and white lettering to front and spine. In very good condition. Spine slightly bumped at ends. Corners slightly rubbed. Neat inscription to front endpaper, dated 1916. One page has child’s attempt at colouring and labelling an illustraion. Colour plates clean and bright. Else a clean and tight copy. Unpaginated. With 12 colour plates, one double page. With b/w illustrations in text. Illustrations by H.C.Earnshaw. This is an exceptional bit of aviation history. Written for children as a dialogue between two boys and their pioneer aviator Uncle Bob. The colour plates (12 colour plates at 8 by 10inches including double of a air show) by Earnshaw of ancient, pre WWI, biplanes and monoplanes and dirigibles are exceptional and historic.
