Covers slightly rubbed. Professionally rebacked. Mild foxing to edges. Slight browning to half title page. Occasional small marks and foxing spots throughout. Else a clean and tight copy. Beautifully illustrated book on ‘Wessex’. The term is used to describe the area of the West Country, primarily Dorset, covered by the novels of Thomas Hardy and many of the paintings reflect this. An interesting history of the area.
