Tall 8vo. In dark blue cloth covers with gilt to spine and front. With illustrated dustwrapper. 281pp. In very good condition with good dustwrapper (dw; spine slightly darkened with small chips and tears. Tear to front . Dw seems to be a little small. Not price clipped). Spine slightly rubbed. Mild foxing to edges. Slight browning to endpapers. Owner’s pencil inscription to front endpaper " E.W.Margesson. from Army & Navy Co-op stores Ltd. Westminster S.W.1. 1st December 1926." Occasional small marks. Some neat pencil annotaions. Else a clean and tight copy. A mixture of historical cases with the current situation: Strange haunts of the Underworld, Criminal organisations, Oriental crooks, Outcasts, ‘Fences’, Prison jottings. With many anecdotes, some from the author’s own experience.
