James Hilton’s penultimate novel, published in the US and UK in 1951. A novel about an actress and a producer by the author of ‘Lost Horizon’.

With dustwrapper. 121pp. In very good condition in good dustwrapper (dw; Rubbed and torn around edges with small pieces missing from spine, front and back. Small marks all over. Not price clipped). Corners slightly bumped. Owner’s inscription on front endpaper. Else a clean and tight copy. Classic wartime tale of the heroic Dr Wassell. This American doctor was to receive a tribute from Roosevelt for his devotion to wounded American sailors from The Houston and the Marblehead who he cared for, and got out of Java following heavy action and kept alive at all costs when the island was captured by the Japanese.
