Maclehose, Jackson & Co. 1923 1st edition. 4to. In grey cloth boards with gilt to brown calf leather spine. Top edge gilt. 250pp With 12 colour plates. In very good condition. Spine slightly faded with small marks. Front board slightly warped. Slight browning to endpapers. Else a clean and tight copy. Two hundred copies of this edition are printed on Handmade paper, of which this is No.187. The author describes some flowers and gives advice on growing them successfully. There is an interesting chapter on Weeds, with descriptions of some which are handsome, but rapidly become a nuisance in a garden. Price: 40.00 GBP
