Tall 8vo. Original red cloth lettered in gold on spine and front cover, with gilt rules and small square on front cover. 85 plates. 336 pp./ cat. 30 pp. (dated July 1912). Slight foxing on endpapers and a few pages. Very good. A "general survey of the whole of the monumental brasses yet existing in England" . They are arranged with a wider view (than only by subject) and are connected with the history of our country, so half of the chapters deal with the brasses of particular epochs - Edwardian, Plantagenet, Lancastrian, Yorkist, Tudor, and Elizabethan, and palimpsest brasses are ranged under the spoliation of the Monasteries, the Suppression of Chantries, and Foreign Wars of Religion. Deals with military, ecclesiastical, civil brasses, etc.;
