The principles of Christian symbolism, as depicted on the large fabric and the minor details of our churches and cathedrals. From the library of Alfred Pope, one of the founders of the Eldridge Pope Brewery, friend of Thomas Hardy and twice Mayor of Dorchester. There is a small number of letters between the author and Alfred Pope. Several of the illustrations are from Dorset churches.
