Three volumes in one. London. Benjamin Steill. 1835 8vo. In maroon half calf leather binding with pebbled cloth boards. 284, 286, 297pp. With b/w engraved portrait frontis to Vol I. In good condition. Fore corners rubbed. Splits to edges of spine with back board almost detached. Pencil inscription to front endpaper. Occasional small marks. Inside pages tightly bound. Known as the Corn Law Poet, the author was born in Rotherham and was largely self taught, although he gained a great deal of advice through a correspondence with Robert Southey. Much of his life was devoted to the repeal of the Corn Laws. Price: 125.00 GBP
