Tall 8vo. In maroon cloth covers with gilt to spine. Top edge gilt. 197pp. With many b/w photographs. In very good condition. Spine slightly faded. Covers part faded. Slight browning to endpapers. Owner’s inscription to front endpaper "E.W.Margesson. Bought from Geo Salby, 65 Great Russell street,. Bloomasbury, London, W.C.1. 4th November 1921." Occasional foxing spots throughout. Else a clean and tight copy. Descriptions of the people and their lives in Polynesia and Papua, New Guinea at the beginning of the 20th century. Many b/w photographs, mostly taken by the author.
