Map loose in front (as original?).Occasional small marks inside. Else a clean and tight copy. A comprehensive description of the County of Somerset in 1820. The book gives descriptions of the countryside, industry, villages and towns. There are routes between major towns and these have inns and seats of local nobility and gentry named. The populations are given, with the numbers of houses. Interesting to compare these with modern times and the effect of the railways. A fascinating look at the county 200 years ago.
