Hardback, approx 7.5 x 5 inches. In light brown cloth covers with gilt lettering and ‘Princess’ designs to spine and front. Top edge gilt. Plain endpapers. In very good condition. Spine faded. Corners bumped. Darkening to endpapers, neat inscription to front “Vera Doris Faire, from Aunt Mary, Xmas 1900.” Crack between front endpapers. Some light foxing spots and some darkening to page edges else a very clean and tight copy. 443pp. 4pp cat. With 24 b&w full-page illustrations. Collection of stories from English History by a variety of authors including Lord Lytton, Thomas Love Peacock, Froissart, Sir Walter Scott, Harrison Ainsworth, W.M.Thakeray, Fenimore Cooper and more.
