6 volumes; Hardback, Size approx 10 x 7 inches. In dark green/blue cloth covers with gilt decorative lettering and pictorial decorations to spines and gilt vignettes to front. Yellow endpapers. In very good condition. Covers are worn with some minor damage to corners; corners bumped, rubbed and chipped, nicks to ends and corners of spines. Chips to rear spine edge on vol.3. Chip to cloth on spine of vol.6, with split nr lettering at top of spine. Rubbing and a couple of nicks/bumps to edges. Some rubbing and marks to boards. Some glue repairs to inner hinges. Some minor handling and thumb marks to some pages. Colour plates clean and bright. A few pages uncut/unopened. Embossed stamp to dedication page “St. Johns school library leatherhead.” with small label “Sold as duplicate, St Johns School.” Stamp also appears to some pages inside. Else inside pages very clean and tight. --- Regarded as the best edition of this set. Six volumes. With 365 colour chromolithographic plates.
