Two Volumes. Both large approx. 10 x 15.5 inches. In full calf leather bindings with highly decorative gilt and raised banding to spines, with red and green gilt lettered spine labels. Marbled endpapers In very good conditions. Rebacked in original boards. Rubbing and some deep scratches to boards, some chips, corners bumped, edges rubbed. V.1 vertical crack to spine, V.2 hinge slightly cracked. Original endpapers chipped at top corner with owners label to front. Vol.1 tear to plate p100 - lacks pages p237-240 (Bridport division.), which were not published in this edition. Edges of title and endpapers darkened. A few small handling marks to pages otherwise very clean and free from foxing. Some neat pencil notes to margins. Neat pen inscription to 2nd front endpaper. Dark mark to outer page edges v.1 but does not effect pages. Else very clean and tight copies. Additional Plates; View of Dorchester, v.1. p374. & Mr. Cox’s House, Woolcombe, v.2. p462. Bookseller Ref: (c103) lxxx + 618pp & 528 + 6pp. Complete with 56 engraved plates PLUS two additional plates, and Pedigrees in whole sheets (included but not mentioned on list.) Addenda and Plates list at rear V2.
