Engraved map with later hand colouring. Thomas Badeslade (fl 1719-1745). Pricipally a surveyor and engineer, Thomas and his son Henry were involved in waterway improvement schemes. He was an accomplished draughtsman and drew maps for ‘The Chorographica Brittanniae’ with the detailed information about the county on the left hand side. Engraved and published in 1742 by W.H.Toms, the atlas went to two further editions in 1743 and 1745.
