The Reluctant Major. Signed copy., ATKINS, DAVID:

Author Name    ATKINS, DAVID:

Title   The Reluctant Major. Signed copy.

Publisher    The Toat Press. Pulborough. 1986 1st edition.

Seller ID   68896

Size 5.5 x 8.75 inches. In dark blue cloth covers with gilt to spine. With illustrated dustwrapper. 110pp. With b/w photographs and a map. In very good condition with very good dustwrapper (dw; slightly creased along top edge. Not price clipped). Pages slightly browned throughout. Author’s neat inscription opposite main title page. Else a clean and tight copy. As a young and inexperienced captain in India in WW2, the author committed an administrative blunder and was consequently ‘kicked upstairs’. Finding himself now a Major, he was given command of a company of native troops, none of whom spoke English. Having eventually moved them to the Burma Front, they all fell ill, leaving just six fit men. This is the author’s warts and all account of his War experiences.

Military Subjects DAVID ATKINS, Reluctant Major, Signed copy, India, WW2, Burma Front, War experiences, dustwrapper first edition signed Military Far East

Price = 12.00 GBP
