Size 6.25 x 9.5 inches. In maroon cloth covers with gilt to spine. With illustrated dustwrapper. 117pp. With b/w illustrations. In very good condition with very good dust wrapper (dw; slightly creased along top edge. Price clipped). Mild foxing to edges. Else a clean and tight copy. Originally published in 1865, this book tells the story of how the Great Eastern was adapted to lay the telegraph cable across the Atlantic and how, after some difficulties, the job was completed.
