Tall 8vo. In maroon cloth covers with gilt to spine. With illustrated dustwrapper. 324pp. With b/w portrait frontis and facsimile handwriting. In very good condition with very good dustwrapper (dw; spine slightly darkened. Foxing spots and handling marks. Slightly rubbed around edges with small chips. Red ink and pencil annotations to back fly leaf. Not price clipped). Letter from author tipped in to front endpaper. Occasional pencil annotations throughout and to back endpaper. Mild foxing to edges. Else a clean and tight copy. Carl Weber was curator of rare books at Colby College. This was considered by some to be the best biography of Hardy.
