Hardback, Size 10 x 8 inches. In green cloth covers with gilt to spine and front with gilt vignette to front. Original dustwrapper has colour plate pasted to front. Boots adverts to back and flyleaves. Lovely bright copy in very good condition. Some rubbing to edges of boards and some minor bumps to corners else Covers clean and bright. Neat inscription to front endpaper “To darling Mother from Pye, Jan 1930.” Soem mior foxing to endpapers and title page, Colour plates clean and bright. Some minor handling marks to pages, else a clean and tight copy. 240pp. With 12 colour plates tipped in with titled tissue guards. Numerous illustrations in green tint. Charles Kingsley’s Water Babies, beautifully illustrated by Jessie Willcox Smith in a 1930 edition produced for Boots.

A couple of very minor marks to pages, mounted plates all clean and bright. ---- Devoted solely to Cracker (bull- terrier, and probably Aldin's favourite dog) and Micky (wolfhound - by the time of writing he was credited with being the third largest dog in the British Isles). 20 coloured plates, mounted on dark paper. The title-page is also dark.

Inside some light foxing to endpapers and edges of plates else a very clean and tight copy. 520pp. With b&w illustrations and full-page plates by Herbert Sidney. One double page plate. No’s 1-5 are in printed, ‘handwritten’ format. Illustrations are similar to those by ‘Punch’.
