Size 4.75 x 7.25 inches. In green hard card covers with green cloth spine. 144pp. With 49pp of adverts. B/w engraved plates and later fold out map at back. In good condition. Spine rubbed and split resulting in the book now being in three sections, but all present. Later map loose in back. Handling marks to covers. Slight browning to endpapers. Neat inscription to front endpaper. Occasional small marks, underlinings and foxing spots. "The great success of the First Edition of this Guide enables us to send out a Second Edition of 3,000 at the end of the first twelve months from the issue of the first. The present Edition has been revised and improved, and will, it is hoped, find even more favour than its forerunner." The original map is missing and has been replaced by a later map of early Bournemouth.

Engraved print with later hand colouring. The print shows a gentleman and lady walking with a second man leaning on a wall. The lady wears a full length skirt, a tight waisted jacket, open at the front with a red bow tie and a hat with an ostrich feather, her companion has knee length riding boots with spurs, tight trousers, a tail coat and top hat. The second man wears a long jacket, checked trousers, gloves and carries his top hat.
