Poole Historical Trust. 1985 1st edition. 
In brown cloth covers with gilt lettering on spine and front. With illustrated dustwrapper. In very good condition.with very good dustwrapper (dw; not price clipped). Small pencil marks to front endpaper. Else a clean and tight copy. 216pp. With b/w photographs and a map. Illustrated end papers. An interesting book produced by Poole Historical Trust which tells the story of the serious decline in the fortunes of the Town/Harbour of Poole when the Napoleonic Wars ended. Trade declined and with town elections being declared fraudulant, all sorts of lawsuits were mounted which effectively ended in the Town becoming Bankrupt. A fascinating story.

Although stating on the title page that a map is present, this does not seem to have been issued with the third edition (see Squibb: The Plates in Hutchins' History of Dorset). NOT bound in here are the introductory pages and notes relating to earlier editions.

Spine on vol.2 is noticeably more heavily rubbed than other vols. Inside pages very clean and tight. Some minor spots else very clean and tight inside. Good reading copies. Approx. 121 steel-engr.plates / plans, etc., lacks 3 plates; v.2. p242 Symondsbury Church, p.694. Rampisham Cross, and v.3. p115. Uddens House. (copies of these plates can be supplied upon request.) Map mentioned in title was not bound in by the publisher in this edition.
