Size 7.75 x 10.0 inches. In white cloth covers with gilt to spine. Top edge gilt. Ex library copy in very good condition. Spine and front have hand written black library lettering. Handling marks to boards. Wigan Public library label to front endpaper. A few blind embossed librarty stamps. Small library label to reverse of main title page. Else a clean and tight copy. 172pp. Modernised but not emasculated version of a fifteenth century manuscript. The book was the manual for deportment for well born girls from 1371 to well into the Renaissance.

Spines rubbed and faded, rubbing to corners edges and spine ends. (Top edge sof ‘Burlesques’ chipped, nick to leather on ‘Lovel the Widower’, repaired split to top of ‘Lile’ by Melville. Rubbing and marks to cloth on boards. Endpapers foxed/darkened. A couple of small spots to inside pages else pages and plates very clean and tight throughout. -- Vanity Fair, Virginians, Pendennis, Yellowplush Papers etc... Illustrated with b&w engraved full-page plates and illustrations within text.
