Hardback, large 10 x 6.5 inches. In full dark purple morocco leather binding. Blind embossed panelling to boards, Raised banding; gilt lettering; and extensive gilt decoration to spine. Gilt vignette to front. Gilt board edging and dentelles, All page edges gilt, light yellow endpapers. In very good condition. Some rubbing to edges and corners and ends of spine. Small nicks to top of spine. Some minor marks to boards. Bookplate to front endpaper “Charles Buckmaster Kings College London 1865.” Slight darkening to endpapers, some mild foxing after endpapers. Fontis and title page with some light foxing, also some foxing to inner plates, tissue guards darkened. Else a clean and tight copy. xxiv + 252pp + cxc + index. Illustrated with many engraved plates and maps.
