Bound in very attractive in 3/4 leather with cloth boards. Spine highly decorated with gilt. Marbled endpapers. 160pp with numerous illustrations. Bound in at rear, original paper front & back covers. In very good condition. A stunning volume. Inside generally very clean & tight.

Brown cloth gt. With 110 illustrations / plates. 384 pp. Inscription on front endpaper, and private coloured bookplate on inside front cover. Fine in very good dustwrapper (dw: price-clipped). An attempt has been made here not only to associate the brasses with contemporary costume but to reveal the costume of the 14th., 15th., and 16th. centuries through the medium of the brass. Druitt tells us not only about the subject’s piety but about clothes, manners and personal interpretation of the fashion of the day.

Mild foxing to some pages. Text of a lecture originally delivered to the Religious and Useful Knowledge Society in Northampton on various local funeral monuments, effigies, etc.
