Tall 8vo. In pink cloth covers with gilt to spine, and in brown on front cover. Small illustrations on spine and front cover. Top edge gilt. Black endpapers. 272pp. Cat.32pp.(dated March 1895). With 90 illustrations by the author, and from old-time prints and pictures. Portrait frontis with tissue guard and title page vignette. Fine copy. Spine slightly faded, back cover part faded. Mild foxing to edges. Neat inscription to first blank page. Occasional small marks. Several pages uncut/unopened. A clean and tight copy. The author describes a walk along the London to Brighton road in the late 19th century, over a period of five days. He describes notable buildings and sights on the journey.
